It is also fully compatible with PMMA (acrylic) materials, making it suitable for a wide range of high-transparency lighting and optical profile applications.
The system features a specialized screw designed specifically for PC materials, ensuring excellent plasticizing performance and eliminating common PC extrusion defects such as crystallization spots, draw marks, and vibration lines. Finished products achieve high light transmittance and superior optical clarity. The screw is manufactured from imported special alloy steel, preventing material adhesion, black spots, and degradation during continuous high-temperature operation.
A key advantage of this line is its newly developed online precision cutting system, which performs one-pass cutting during extrusion without secondary processing. Cutting accuracy is controlled within ±0.5 mm, delivering smooth, chip-free ends and significantly improving overall production efficiency.

PC Light Tube Extrusion Process Workflow
- Material Drying: PC or PMMA pellets are dried in a dehumidifying dryer to reduce moisture content below 0.02%, preventing hydrolytic degradation and optical defects during extrusion.
- Feeding: Dried material is fed into the extruder hopper via a vacuum loader or gravimetric dosing unit for consistent, controlled material flow.
- Plasticizing & Extrusion: The PC-specialized screw melts and homogenizes the material under precise multi-zone temperature control, then forces the melt through the tube or profile die head.
- Calibration: The extruded tube or profile enters a precision vacuum calibration sleeve that fixes the outer diameter and wall thickness to the target dimensions.
- Cooling: The calibrated profile passes through water cooling tanks for full solidification while maintaining dimensional stability and optical clarity.
- Haul-Off: Servo-driven caterpillar pullers draw the tube through the line at a precise, adjustable speed to ensure consistent wall thickness and surface quality.
